Arranging physiotherapy for a workplace injury
Tell reception that the injury happened at work and provide your injury date and WCB claim details if available. Follow the WCB reporting process and notify your employer as appropriate; a clinic booking does not replace reporting an injury. Ask what information reception needs before your assessment and whether coverage or authorization has been confirmed.
Make your work demands part of the conversation
Bring a description of your usual tasks, such as lifting, prolonged sitting, standing or repetitive movements. Explain which activities are difficult and whether modified duties have been discussed. This gives your physiotherapist useful context for assessing movement and planning rehabilitation. Relevant medical recommendations and existing work restrictions are also useful to bring.
How your rehabilitation plan is reviewed
Ask your physiotherapist what the assessment means for your daily activities, what the goals of treatment are and when progress will be reviewed. A plan may include exercises, education and other appropriate care, with adjustments based on your response. Return-to-work arrangements should be coordinated with the relevant people involved in your claim; a website cannot determine your fitness for a particular job or guarantee a return date.
WCB coverage and appointment costs
WCB decides claim eligibility and coverage. Ask reception whether your appointment can be billed to WCB and what happens if approval is pending or a service is not covered. Do not assume that a claim number means unlimited visits are authorized. Confirm arrangements for follow-up care before attending, and contact your WCB representative for questions about claim decisions.
